On request, the school offers an accommodation service to help the students in finding an accommodation during their stay.
The service is free and offered exclusively to those who enroll in our courses.

Here’s how the service works:

  • The school takes charge of the student’s request and searches for the accommodation through various options (agencies, platforms, network of contacts of host families and owners of rental accommodation or other facilities such as hostels and hotels);
  • Once it has found the accommodation, the office will report it to the student by sending photos and details;
  • The student is free to accept or not the accommodation offered. If the student accepts the proposal, the school will book it on behalf of the student and will put him or her in contact with the structure;
  • From this moment on, all necessary communications will be directly between the facility and the student;
  • The payment for the accommodation and the conclusion of the contract (if required) will be made directly to the host structure. In case of homestay, the student makes the payment through the school and 22% VAT will be applied (according to current legislation);

KIND OF ACCOMMODATION:

HOMESTAY

Living with an Italian family is definitely a great opportunity to have a real experience in direct contact with the daily habits of Italians, make friends and test Italian in everyday situations. However, be aware that there will be rules and family habits to respect that may be very different from yours. There are different types of Florentine families that offer accommodation to foreign students: they are composed of young or older couples, with or without children, or by a lady or a gentleman whose children have now left their home or singles. It is advisable to book your accommodation well in advance. The school does not guarantee it will be able to find accommodation available for requests received at short notice.

The options are as follows:
Room and breakfast: includes room and breakfast, prepared by the family. No use of the kitchen by the student.
Half board: includes room, breakfast and dinner prepared by the family. No use of the kitchen by the student.
Room with use of kitchen: includes the room and the use of the kitchen to prepare meals, according to the times and rules of the host family

  • Some host families live in the old town, between a 10 to 20 minute walk walk from the school. Others live outside the historic center, in the residential areas of the city, reachable by tram or bus in about 20/30 minutes.
  • Rooms can be single or double.
  • The bathroom can be shared with the family or other students living in the apartment. Only in some cases wii it be possible to have a private bathroom.
  • Wifi is available in most apartments.
  • The rent of the room is generally from the Sunday before the beginning of the course until the Saturday after the end of the course.
  • The use of appliances such as washing machines or irons is subject to family rules.
  • Linen is provided by the family.

ROOM IN A SHARED FLAT

This is a room with the use of kitchen in an apartment where other foreign or Italian students stay. This is the solution that guarantees a certain freedom, but you must still be prepared to respect the uses and habits of people from different parts of the world. This type of accommodation is difficult to book for short stays, from 1 to 4 weeks. It is a more suitable solution for long-term stays, minimum 4 weeks. It is highly requested in Florence and it is therefore advisable to make the reservation well in advance. The school does not guarantee it will be able to provide information on accommodation available for requests received on short notice. The payment of the accommodation will be made directly to the owner of the host structure, who will also be responsible for the contract.

  • The bathroom can be shared or, in some cases, there may be a private bathroom.
  • Wifi is available in most homes.
  • Utilities are generally included in the monthly rent.
  • A cash deposit is generally required to guarantee that any damage will be covered.

INDEPENDENT APARTMENT
Private apartments can be one/two-room apartments or larger ones. Prices vary depending on the area and the period required. This solution is the most convenient, and it offers the maximum independence to the student. There are several platforms and agencies through which students can book accommodation. It is the type of accommodation that is most easily found. The school can inform students about owners and reliable agencies. The payment of the accommodation will be made directly to the owner of the host structure, who will also be responsible for the contract.

HOSTEL
In Florence the offer of hostels for people staying in the city for study or work purposes is growing rapidly. They are very convenient solutions, but also very requested. Therefore, even in this case, booking is recommended well in advance.
Traditional hostels are cheaper and suitable for very short periods; modern hostels are recommended for longer periods. Requests for availability, reservation and payment are made directly to the property.

HOTEL
The city offers a wide selection of hotels. If this is the chosen accommodation, you will probably not need our help.
